This cultural event is one of the two Flower Festivals – “La Rose” and “La Marguerite” held annually in observance of Saint Lucia’s rich cultural memory, history and heritage. These two Flower festivals depict a historical rivalry among communities whose members sing the virtues of their flowers. “La Rose” members pledge their allegiance to the rose by dressing in red and creating flamboyant displays made of roses.

Saint Lucia celebrates Chocolate Heritage Month recognizing the role that cocoa and its beloved by-product, chocolate have played in the history of the island. A number of on-island experiences and month long festivals delve in Saint Lucia’s cocoa heritage offering travelers unbeatable island-wide hotel and resort promotions and lots of chocolaty fun.

June-July

With a variety of competitions including the ever-popular Power and Groovy Monarch, Senior and Junior Panoramas (Steel Pan Competitions), and the Inter-Commercial House Calypso completion, dozens of community events, and of course a continuous calendar of parties and fetes, this is a very special celebration of Caribbean history, culture and creativity. Under the leadership of the Cultural Development Foundation and in collaboration with all stakeholders, Saint Lucia Carnival is recognized as one of the top Carnivals in the Caribbean and becomes a more vibrant and creative event each year.

June 29th

Each year on the last Sunday in June Saint Lucian Fisherman celebrate Fete Peche. This thanksgiving celebration includes church services and various activities island wide.

February 22nd

In 2018 St. Lucia will celebrate its 39th Independence Anniversary. Each year Saint Lucians celebrate with activities held throughout the island.

Whole Month of January

Saint Lucia sets one week each year to celebrate the achievements of our two noble laureates – Sir Arthur Lewis who won the Nobel Prize in Economics (1979) and Sir Derek Walcott who won the Nobel Prize in Literature (1992). A series of panel discussions, workshops and exhibitions highlight the achievements of the Laureates.

January 12 – 14th

This gastronomic event to attract the best chefs, wine connoisseurs, rum fanatics and food critics from the Caribbean and internationally. Inspired in part by the outstanding achievements of Chefs Nina Compton and Doran Payne, this unique event promotes Saint Lucian and other Caribbean rums, restaurants, chefs, and regionally manufactured food and drink products to a regional and international audience. The excitement includes with cooking demonstrations, rum tasting, wine tasting, celebrity chef dinners and community culinary experiences, all this accompanied by musical and other artistic performances by from Saint Lucia and further afield.

May 7th to 13th

A celebration of Saint Lucian, Caribbean and international jazz music. The Saint Lucia Jazz Festival offers a series of concerts, educational activities targeted at Saint Lucian and visiting musicians, and culminates in a major open air concert at the historic Pigeon Island National Landmark on Mothers’ Day.
